About the Author
Ronald J. Allen is professor of Preaching, Gospels, and Letters at Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis. One of the most widely published authors in homiletics, he has written or coauthored over 30 books, including Thinking Theologically (2007) in the Elements of Preaching series, and contributed to over 100 other books, including New Proclamation, Year B, Pentecost, 2006.

challenging model of Luke Acts

I appreciated the comparative narrative and the structure of Luke acts as explored by Ron. I thought the challenge to refrain from expressing anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish thoughts was appropriate, but lacked a model on how to adequately explain, nor point out the difference and the eventual separation of The Way from Judaism. I thought Ron hinted at one aspect of that journey by connecting some Jews with the old realm, old thinking, those resistant to change and the new order.

This is for Sermon Preparation

This is a book for preaching on The Acts of the Apostles...the subject matter got too "involved" in ways that were not particularly useful for my Bible Study. I gave it to my pastor as a reference for her.
