About the Author
DONALD HILLIARD JR., MDiv, DMin, is senior pastor of Cathedral International, now ministering in three New Jersey locations: Perth Amboy, Asbury Park, and Plainfield. He is the presiding bishop and founder of the Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship and Cathedral Assemblies, Inc. In this role he serves as the spiritual advisor and mentor of several pastors and churches across the United States and West Africa. Bishop Hilliard also established the Safe Harbor Clergy Leadership Conference where innovative leaders from different denominational backgrounds gather to confront and minister to various issues faced by clergy daily, as well as to expand their theological and social horizons. Dr. Hilliard is the author of seven books, including Church Growth from an African American Perspective (2006).

OMG! God Bless You Bishop Hilliard!

This is by far the best MENTORSHIP that I have had in 23 years of ministry!
Midlife, Manhood, and Ministry spoke to my heart. It was so insightful! I was inspired as to how to lead my mentees! But most importantly, Bishop Hilliard has helped to initiate my navigation through this very tumultuous time in my life - a time of re-invention, re-positioning, and re-evaluation. I am currently in my 2nd year, post-heart attack & open-heart surgery. I was a 44 year old Church Planter/Pastor at the time. Two months after my heart attack, it was evident that I had to step down from the pastorate to recover. Also during that time, during my recovery, my wife abandoned me - taking up with a minister who claimed that he was sent by God to help me and to mentor me. Mentorship has not been faithful to me! Moreover, my health has placed me in a quandary with a myriad of questions about ministry (now), life, relationships, parenting, finances, etc.
Thank you Bishop Hilliard for this significant deposit in my life as a 46 year old, Minister, Son, Father (of 3-Sons), Educated African American Man, who loves the Lord and desires to someday say, like Christ did... "It is finished!"

It was transparent and detailed and honest. It wasn't a sermon it was a therapist session in a book, but encourages engaging a therapist without shame. It will help many to come out of the shadows and heal.
